Western Mediterranean Cruise Highlights:
Marseille - Marseille, the oldest city in France, nowadays is a very important port, as well as being a university town and the seat of an archbishopric. A must see is the Kennedy Corniche, a coastal road with views across to the islands in the bay of Marseille and the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde. Aix-en-Provence is a university and spa town, the cultural and political centre of Provence.
Barcelona - The excursions, on foot or by bike, take in the most important places and monuments: the Montjuic hill, the Ramblas, the Barrio Gotico and the Picasso Museum, leaving you enough time to do shopping and try some tapas. There is a special Gaudí tour of his most famous masterpieces such as the Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell, Casa Batllo and La Pedrera. The visit to the Benedictine abbey of Montserrat is not to be missed.
Palma de Mallorca - The island's main city will overwhelm you with the liveliness of its nightlife and beaches. Don’t forget to visit the charming old city too.
Rome / Civitavecchia - Its ancient port brings you to the heart of Roman and Etruscan civilizations, although its historic center is also a charming medieval village.
La Spezia - The gulf of La Spezia, without a doubt one of the most beautiful bays in the world, contains some extraordinarily beautiful sights, from the Gulf of Poets to the Cinque Terre: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, five villages that look out over the sea, with breathtaking walking trails and panoramas. This splendid area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
