This itinerary starts BEFORE the accompanying cruise itinerary.

Day 1: Venice

You'll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your Venice hotel to meet your Tour Director. The remainder of the day is yours for independent sightseeing and shopping in Venice. Your Tour Director will be happy to recommend a local restaurant for dinner on your own. Overnight in Venice.

Day 2: Venice

After breakfast in your hotel join your Tour Director for a half-day walking tour of St. Mark's Square, including a view of the Bell Tower, St. Mark's cathedral and the Doge's Palace for a view of the Bridge of Sighs. You may choose to return to the hotel or stay in town for an afternoon and evening of sightseeing, shopping and dining at your leisure. Overnight in Venice. Breakfast included.

Day 3: Venice & Florence

Enjoy breakfast before heading to the Venice train station to begin your journey to Florence. Upon arrival you will travel to the center of Florence to enjoy an afternoon of independent sightseeing, shopping and dining. Overnight in Florence. Breakfast included.

Day 4: Florence

After breakfast at your hotel, join your Tour Director for a half-day walking tour of Florence, including visits to the Accademia Museum, Cathedral Square, the Duomo and Santa Croce Cathedral. Afterwards, return to the hotel or you can stay in town for lunch and independent sightseeing and shopping. Enjoy a group dinner at a Florence restaurant. Overnight in Florence. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 5: Florence & Rome

After breakfast in your hotel, transfer to the Florence train station to board a train to Rome. Upon arrival in Rome, you'll be taken to the city center. After lunch on your own, join your Tour Director and begin a half-day walking tour of Ancient Rome. You'll visit the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, the Parthenon, and Piazza Navona, and be treated to an interior visit to the Colosseum. After transferring to the hotel, the remainder of the evening is at your leisure. Overnight in Rome. Breakfast included.

Day 6: Rome & Civitavecchia

Enjoy breakfast in your hotel before departing on a tour of Vatican City. You'll view St. Peter's Square and enjoy interior visits to St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum, and the Sistine Chapel. Following the tour you'll transfer from Rome to Civitavecchia by motor coach to begin your Mediterranean cruise.
